For many commuters at UH Mānoa, the cost of college goes beyond tuition and textbooks. Just getting to campus can come with a price.
Mānoa averages nearly 20,000 students and staff every year but only offers 5,000 parking spots on campus. With a four-to-one ratio on parking, students often have to pay the extra charge to secure a spot or resort to finding street parking blocks away just to save money.
No matter what route they take, this issue is causing students stress and exhaustion before the school day even begins. Balancing classes and personal life becomes even more of a challenge as this issue continues.
