Hello! My name is Jessica Iwamasa. I am a senior at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in the Journalism program. I was born and raised in Kaneohe on Oahu’s east side near the rural Kahalulu area. I enjoy reporting on a broad range of topics, but I find myself gravitating towards human-interest stories, entertainment, and travel journalism.

Along with my passion for journalism, I fell in love with the work I have done at Windward Community’s library, Hale La'akea. Working in their circulation department has shown me the power knowledge brings and allows me to see the joy it brings people to understand the ever-evolving world around them. It is my calling to continue to provide aid to libraries and archives that provide accessible education for all. My long-term goal is to pursue a Master's degree in Library Information Sciences and to keep my experience local by working as a public librarian for the state.
