Big Duos EP 3: What it’s like to cover sports in the middle of the ocean

This episode of the Big Duos Pod has the guys talking about being a first timer in Hawai’i with Hawai’i Sports Radio Network (HSRN) reporter Paul Brecht. Brecht is a graduate from Ithaca College in New York, and moved to Hawai’i over a year and a half ago to start working at HSRN. He wears many hats at HSRN from audio engineer to play by play commentator, to even being the co-host for “Wake Up in the Den with Ku’ulei Agbayani ” for the morning show. Brecht spoke with the guys about how much of a culture shock it was to move from New York to Hawai’i and how much he’s learned about both the island’s historical culture, but also the sports history and culture in Hawai’i. Noting Hawai’i as one of the most passionate places where the sports fans show so much care for the competition everywhere from little league to the college games.
