The Hawaii State Library system spent more than $75,000 on buying new materials for its collections in 2022-2023.
Among those enjoying those facilities over the summer was Rachel Smith, who read to her daughters, from left to right, Oakley and Blair, at the Kapolei Public Library. The quiet moment captures the essence of motherhood and the power of storytelling, as the family engrossed themselves in the world of books, and also the importance of this statewide library system in providing indoor, intellectual recreation spaces.
