Hawaii stuns Colorado State in season finale, 27-24

UH field goal in the final seconds caps a wild finish

In the closing UH football game of 2023, defense and offense came together in a stunning win for Hawaii against Colorado State University. A big crowd showed up to support the Rainbow Warriors, including alumni and a wide variety of supporters of the football program, including past players. The football season this year had some rocky moments, but resiliency and passion for the game landed Hawaii on its feet in the final game. Senior Mathew Shipley finished strong with a final kick that gave the team a win on what could be the final play of his UH career. He is a senior, but due to Covid-19 impacts, Shipley does maintain one season of eligibility.
