Aloha! My name is Nia Sloan and I am originally from a pleasurable town in Colorado by the name of Golden. I journeyed to Hawaii three years ago for school to study marine biology with a special interest in coral restoration. However, plans changed and now I’m studying a buried passion of mine: writing. Nonfiction writing and reading to gain an interesting source of knowledge are some of my most favorite things. I hope to one day pioneer a new wave of journalism and journalists drawing major inspiration and drive from great writers like Hunter S. Thompson and Tom Wolfe.
